Job summary

Executive Staffing Group (ESG) client seeks a Partner/Principal to build and scale a CFO Advisory and Accounting Advisory practice. This market-facing leadership role blends technical accounting with finance transformation for private equity-backed and growth-oriented companies.

It requires origination of CFO relationships, expanding engagements, and guiding complex projects including SEC reporting, IPO readiness, and transaction accounting. Big 4 or top firms background is preferred.

Qualifications

• 12–20+ years of experience in accounting advisory, transaction advisory, or CFO advisory.
• Strong background in SEC reporting, technical accounting, and transaction-related accounting.
• Experience supporting IPOs, capital markets transactions, or public company readiness initiatives.
• Demonstrated success in business development and client relationship management.
• Experience working with private equity-backed or high-growth companies preferred.
• Prior experience at a Big 4 or leading advisory platform such as PwC, EY, KPMG, Deloitte, or firms such as Alvarez & Marsal, Accordion, or Riveron.

Responsibilities

• Originate and expand client relationships with CFOs, private equity firms, and executive leadership teams.
• Drive revenue growth across accounting advisory and CFO advisory offerings.
• Develop and execute a repeatable go-to-market strategy leveraging centers of influence and existing firm relationships.
• Lead complex engagements including SEC reporting, IPO readiness, de-SPAC transactions, and purchase accounting.
• Assist in finance function assessments, transformation, and financial close optimization.
• Serve as a trusted advisor to CFOs on scaling finance functions and reporting processes.
• Help define and expand service offerings, recruit and develop teams, and drive cross-functional growth.

Our client is seeking a Partner/Principal to help build and scale a high-growth CFO Advisory and Accounting Advisory (AAS) practice. This role sits at the intersection of technical accounting, capital markets readiness, and finance transformation, with a focus on serving private equity-backed and growth-oriented companies.

This is a market-facing leadership role for a proven operator who combines deep technical accounting expertise with the ability to originate and expand client relationships with CFOs, finance leaders, and private equity sponsors.

Key Responsibilities

Practice Growth & Business Development

• Originate and expand client relationships with CFOs, private equity firms, and executive leadership teams
• Drive revenue growth across accounting advisory and CFO advisory offerings
• Develop and execute a repeatable go-to-market strategy leveraging centers of influence and existing firm relationships

Client Advisory & Delivery

• Lead complex engagements including:
• SEC reporting and technical accounting (U.S. GAAP; SEC regulations including S-X and S-K)
• IPO readiness, de-SPAC transactions, and public company preparedness
• Transaction-related accounting (ASC 805 / IFRS 3, purchase accounting, integration support)
• Finance function assessments, transformation, and financial close optimization
• Serve as a trusted advisor to CFOs on scaling finance functions and enhancing financial reporting processes

Practice Building

• Help define and expand service offerings across Accounting Advisory and CFO Advisory
• Recruit, mentor, and develop high-performing teams
• Partner across the firm to drive cross-functional growth opportunities
