Job summary

Hitachi Particle Engineering and Services, Inc. is seeking a Site Engineer I to service and maintain the Particle Beam Therapy (PBT) system used for cancer treatment in Jacksonville, FL.

You will join a small team, ensuring proper function of the main PBT system and sub-systems while complying with Hitachi regulations. The role focuses on preventative and corrective maintenance, data collection, and reporting to support high uptime and patient care.

Qualifications

• Able to read and interpret engineering documents (schematics, wiring diagrams etc.)
• Able to utilize measurement instruments (oscilloscopes, multimeters, leak detectors)
• Able to use hand tools (screwdrivers, wrenches, pliers, hammers)
• Safely lift up to 50 pounds repeatedly and work in elevated areas with safety harness
• Work in elevated work zones and in regions of mechanical, electrical, high voltage and radiation
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, PowerPoint; Excel macros preferred
• Willingness to work a compressed schedule as part of a cross-functional team
• Flexibility to cover rotating shifts and overtime; PM tasks certified prior to role

Responsibilities

• Monitor and support operational performance and patient experience.
• Respond to service calls promptly.
• Interface with customers to ensure satisfaction.
• Comply with HIPAA, EH&S, FDA, OSHA, Radiation Safety and Hitachi policies.
• Follow safety practices and PPE usage.
• Perform PM/CM tasks and maintain records (PM, CM, work orders).
• Schedule PM to minimize part costs and maximize efficiency.
• Maintain knowledge of PBT system vocabulary for effective communication.
• Prepare outage reports and maintain comprehensive documentation.
• Mentor Maintenance technicians and analyze data to improve performance.
