DataAnnotation is seeking a Physicist to design problems that test AI reasoning, from undergraduate mechanics to advanced theory. You will assess models for dimensional errors and skip steps, then rate the quality of the reasoning.
You’ll write the gold-standard solutions that clearly show the physics at every step, and contribute to remote, project-based work with flexible engagement terms for graduate-level researchers.
Models can recite physics and still get it wrong: dimensional errors, misapplied approximations, and derivations that skip the step where the physics actually happens.
As a Physicist you'll evaluate AI reasoning across mechanics, E&M, quantum, and thermodynamics, and write solutions with the care of a good problem-set grader.
Common backgrounds: Physicist, Research Scientist.
Up to $40 – $125+/hr depending on task difficulty and specialization. Many contributors add $10k–$100k+ a year; some make it their full-time income.
DataAnnotation is where 100k+ experts train the world’s leading AI models. $150M+ paid to contributors to date, and the average contributor stays 5+ years. Flexible, remote, and always project-available.
