Job summary

TIDALWAVES SWIM SOCIETY in Marin County, CA, is seeking an Assistant Swim Coach for a part-time role. You will help plan and deliver daily practices for swimmers aged 5–18, focusing on technique, conditioning, and skill development, on-site at facilities in Kentfield and Larkspur.

You will assist with warm-ups, drills, and progress feedback, while maintaining safety and coordinating with the coaching staff.

Qualifications

Strong skills in competitive swimming technique for safe, effective training.
Experience with Swim Instruction and Swim Lessons to guide swimmers of varying ages.
Knowledge of Lifeguarding principles; current certification preferred or willingness to obtain.
Ability to motivate and support swimmers in a positive, inclusive manner with strong communication.
Experience working with youth or in a team sports environment is beneficial.
Current CPR and First Aid certification or willingness to obtain within a specified time frame.

Responsibilities

Plan and deliver daily swim practices for swimmers ages 5–18 at various technique levels.
Demonstrate proper technique from the deck and provide constructive feedback.
Set up equipment, assist warm-ups and drills, supervise swimmers during practices.
Maintain a safe pool environment and communicate with coaches and swimmers as needed.
Support swim meets, time trials, and social events, including occasional mornings, evenings, or weekend shifts.
