Job summary

The Chester County Library, Exton, PA, has a part-time Library Assistant opening in the Youth Services Department. Qualifications

• Excellent oral and written communication; enthusiasm, flexibility and energy are required.
• High school diploma mandatory; a BS in early childhood education, elementary education or children’s literature is preferred.
• Experience or knowledge of children’s and young adult literature is valued.
• Ability to plan and present developmentally appropriate literacy programs for preschoolers.

Responsibilities

• Assist children, teens, and families in a fast-paced library setting.

• Keep children’s and YA areas attractive and orderly, including shelving tasks.
• Support daytime, evening, and rotating weekend programming and activities.
