Job summary

Arlington Heights Memorial Library in Cook County is seeking a Youth Services Advisor to join the Kids' World and Hub teams. This part-time role involves guiding youth and caregivers to books, planning engaging programs, and supporting outreach to schools and community events.

You'll staff the Kids' World desk and the teen Hub (7th–12th grades), fostering a welcoming environment and connecting customers to resources.

Qualifications

• Undergraduate degree or equivalent knowledge related to youth services.
• Experience with youth and multicultural audiences preferred.
• Strong written and verbal communication; presentations.
• Proficiency with computers/tablets to assist customers.
• Ability to work in a collaborative team and support programming.

Responsibilities

• Help youth and caregivers find and check out books, movies, music, and games.
• Plan and present creative programs centered on literature or learning objectives.
• Collaborate on youth services projects.
• Support outreach visits to local schools and community events.
• Staff the Kids' World desk and the teen Hub, linking customers to resources.
