Boys & Girls Club of Greater Northwest Indiana, Inc. is hiring a Youth Development Professional to create, plan, and supervise grant-aligned programs for youth in Valparaiso, IN.

The role supports academic, social-emotional, and physical development across multiple program areas. The YDP fosters a safe and inclusive environment, mentoring youth, promoting leadership, and delivering structured programming with flexibility to rotate between Arts, STEM, Gym, and Cafeteria areas.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• At least 18 years of age.
• Some college education preferred.
• Previous experience working with youth.
• CPR and First Aid certification required (or ability to obtain).
• Ability to pass a criminal history background check.
• Ability to pass a drug screen.
• U.S. work authorization required.

Responsibilities

• Plan and implement engaging, grant-aligned programming in Arts, STEM, Sports & Recreation, Games Room, or Cafeteria.
• Facilitate activities including creative arts, STEM, sports, social recreation, and nutrition.
• Build positive relationships with youth and serve as a mentor in a safe, inclusive environment.
• Promote youth leadership, teamwork, and social-emotional skills.
• Track attendance, participation, and program data; maintain clean, safe spaces.
• Collaborate with Club leadership and community partners; participate in staff meetings and trainings.
