Rite of Passage is hiring a Youth Mentor for Lava Heights Academy in Toquerville, Utah. The role is part time with a schedule that supports school-age youth in a residential program.

You will help supervise and guide students, supporting their education, recreation and treatment goals while working with a team of professionals. The position offers a $20.00 hourly rate, includes an $1,000 bonus after completing essential skills training within 90 days, and several fringe benefits for part-time

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent.
• Must be at least 21 years old.
• Must pass a criminal background check.
• Drug screening required.
• Physical and TB screening required.

Responsibilities

• Provide safety and around-the-clock supervision for youth.
• Monitor and document student behaviors and activities.
• Participate in educational, social, athletic and recreational activities.
• Collaborate with professional staff to meet each student’s treatment plan goals.

Join a group of passionate advocates on our mission to improve the lives of youth! Rite of Passage Team is hiring for a Part Time Youth Mentor at Lava Heights Academy in Toquerville, Utah

Lava Heights Academy is a residential treatment program that provides a safe, supportive and nurturing environment for vulnerable young women who are referred from juvenile courts and social service agencies both locally and across the country. The youth enter the program with a history of abuse, neglect, trauma, substance abuse, mental illness and violence. They graduate from Lava Heights Academy as educated young women who have overcome challenges and have demonstrated making healthy choices for themselves and for their future.

Pay

$20.00 per hour depending on experience and education

Earn a $1,000 Bonus After Successful Completion of Essential Skills Training (within the first 90 Days!)

What you will do

As a Youth Mentor, you’ll provide safety and around-the-clock supervision for the youth in our program and provide an atmosphere that is supportive of the needs of the students. You’ll monitor and document student behaviors and activities, participate and assist with educational, social, athletic and recreational activities, and work in collaboration with other professional staff to establish and/or meet the goals of each student’s treatment plan.

To be considered you should

• Have a High School Diploma or Equivalent

Schedule

Monday through Friday (5 days a week), 7:00 am to 1:30 pm (5 1/2 hours per day) or 8:00 am to 9:00 pm Saturday and Sunday (13 hours)
