Rite of Passage is hiring a Youth Mentor for Lava Heights Academy in Toquerville, UT. The role focuses on safety, supervision, and supporting the youths’ treatment plans within a residential setting.

You will document behaviors, participate in educational and recreational activities, and work with staff to achieve individual goals while meeting strict schedule requirements on a 12-hour shift.

Join a group of passionate advocates on our mission to improve the lives of youth! Rite of Passage Team is hiring for a Youth Mentor at Lava Heights Academy in Toquerville, Utah

Lava Heights Academy is a residential treatment program that provides a safe, supportive and nurturing environment for vulnerable young women who are referred from juvenile courts and social service agencies both locally and across the country. The youth enter the program with a history of abuse, neglect, trauma, substance abuse, mental illness and violence. They graduate from Lava Heights Academy as educated young women who have overcome challenges and have demonstrated making healthy choices for themselves and for their future.

Pay:

$20.00 per hour depending on experience and education

Earn a $1,000 Bonus After Successful Completion of Essential Skills Training (within the first 90 Days!)

$500 Sign On Bonus

paid at 6 months of employment

Regarding insurance coverage: You will be eligible for Medical insurance on the first of the month following 60 days of full-time employment. What you will do:

As a Youth Mentor, you’ll provide safety and around-the-clock supervision for the youth in our program and provide an atmosphere that is supportive of the needs of the students. You’ll monitor and document student behaviors and activities, participate and assist with educational, social, athletic and recreational activities, and work in collaboration with other professional staff to establish and/or meet the goals of each student’s treatment plan.

To be considered you should:

Have a High School Diploma or Equivalent, be at least 21 years old, be able to pass a criminal background check, drug screening, physical and TB screening.

Schedule:

7:00 am to 8:00 pm or 8:00 am to 9:00 pm with 1 hour break (12-hour Shift).
