Rite of Passage is hiring a Youth Mentor for Lava Heights Academy in Toquerville, Utah. The residential program supports young women referred from juvenile courts and social services, providing a safe, nurturing environment where resilience and healthy choices are fostered.

As a Youth Mentor you will supervise the youth, document behaviors, and help with education, social, athletic and recreational activities while collaborating with staff to meet each student’s treatment goals.

Qualifications

• Have a High School Diploma or Equivalent.
• Be at least 21 years old.
• Pass a criminal background check, drug screening, physical and TB screening.

Responsabilités

• Monitor and document student behaviors and activities.
• Participate and assist with educational, social, athletic and recreational activities.
• Collaborate with other professional staff to meet each student’s treatment plan.

Join a group of passionate advocates on our mission to improve the lives of youth! Rite of Passage Team is hiring for a Youth Mentor at Lava Heights Academy in Toquerville, Utah. Lava Heights Academy is a residential treatment program that provides a safe, supportive and nurturing environment for vulnerable young women who are referred from juvenile courts and social service agencies both locally and across the country. The youth enter the program with a history of abuse, neglect, trauma, substance abuse, mental illness and violence. They graduate from Lava Heights Academy as educated young women who have overcome challenges and have demonstrated making healthy choices for themselves and for their future.

Pay

$20.00 per hour depending on experience and education

Earn a $1,000 Bonus After Successful Completion of Essential Skills Training (within the first 90 Days!)

$500 Sign On Bonus

paid at 6 months of employment

Regarding insurance coverage: You will be eligible for Medical insurance on the first of the month following 60 days of full-time employment. You will be eligible for the rest of the Rite of Passage Benefits Package immediately after 90 days of full-time employment., and 403b match of up to 6% after 1 year of employment, Paid Time Off that can be used as soon as it accrues and more!

What you will do

As a Youth Mentor, you’ll provide safety and around-the-clock supervision for the youth in our program and provide an atmosphere that is supportive of the needs of the students. You’ll monitor and document student behaviors and activities, participate and assist with educational, social, athletic and recreational activities, and work in collaboration with other professional staff to establish and/or meet the goals of each student’s treatment plan.

To be considered you should

• Have a High School Diploma or Equivalent
• be at least 21 years old

Schedule

• 3.5/3.5 - Sun - Wed OR Wed - Sat totaling 40 hours
• Varying start times from 7:00 to 10:00am
• 12 hours with a 1 hour break (11 hours paid)
