Job summary

Boys & Girls Clubs of the Tennessee Valley is hiring a Part-Time Youth Development Associate at Norris Elementary School. You will plan engaging activities, supervise youth, and support daily operations to create a safe, fun learning environment.

Ideal candidates are 18+, with strong communication, teamwork, and the ability to lift up to 40 pounds. Background checks and drug screening are required; CPR certification is offered after hire.

Qualifications

• 18+ years of age
• High school diploma or GED required; 1-2 years of youth experience preferred
• Must pass background checks and drug screening
• CPR certification offered post-hire by BGCTV
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite is preferred

Responsibilities

• Post weekly lesson plans for parents/guardians and youth.
• Encourage full participation in activities.
• Identify alternative activities to promote participation.
• Supervise program areas to ensure safety.
• Participate in staff meetings and collaborate with Club team.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the Club per standards.
• Provide meals to youth per USDA standards.
• Provide mild disciplinary action as needed.
• Supervise youth on school buses.
• Attend programs, field trips, and events.
• Create bulletin boards for youth.
• Orient volunteers to the Club and opportunities.
• Oversee volunteers.
