Job summary

Union School District is seeking a part-time Cooking & Baking Enrichment Leader for multiple school sites in San Jose, CA. The role involves leading hands-on cooking activities for young students and coordinating a Family Recipe Showcase at the end of each session.

Hours are limited but could include Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, Wednesdays and Fridays as scheduled. Must have a high school or trade school degree and work authorization; culinary experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• High School/Trade School degree preferred.
• Citizenship, residency or work visa required.
• Experience in culinary arts, cooking, baking, nutrition, or a related field.

Responsibilities

• Lead age-appropriate cooking and baking activities.
• Teach basic food prep, measuring, mixing, baking.
• Promote kitchen safety and cleanliness.
• Introduce nutrition and healthy eating concepts.
• Coordinate end-of-session Family Recipe Showcase.
• Communicate with staff, students, families.
• Maintain supplies and equipment.
• Monitor behavior and participation.
• Follow program policies and safety procedures.
• Ensure safe and inclusive learning environment.
