Job summary

Owen Health Care Inc. in New Jersey is seeking a Part-Time Individual Support Worker to assist youth with intellectual and developmental disabilities and their families.

You will travel to homes to implement behavior support plans, document progress, and collaborate with behavioral therapists to promote safety, growth, and positive outcomes for each child.

The role emphasizes empathy, patience, and strong communication to build trusting relationships with both the youth and their families.

Qualifications

• College degree with one year of experience or a High School Diploma/GED.
• Minimum of three years of supervised experience in implementing positive behavior support plans.
• Experience teaching ADL/Instrumental skills to individuals with IDD.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist behavioral therapists to create tailored behavioral therapy programs.
• Implement individualized service plans and behavioral interventions in home/community settings.
• Monitor and document youth behavior; adjust activities to therapeutic goals.
• Develop engaging recreational activities to support emotional and social growth.
• Maintain a clean, safe environment and follow established safety standards.
