Job summary

Tualatin Hills Park & Recreation District is seeking part-time instructors to teach babysitting and home-alone courses for youth and teens. Roles require safety-focused, engaging instruction and the ability to manage groups in indoor/outdoor settings.

Instructors II/III require 1–2+ years of leadership experience; certifications in First Aid/CPR and babysitting or childcare teaching are preferred or obtainable upon hire. Flexible weekend schedules offered.

Qualifications

• First Aid/CPR certification required or ability to obtain on hire.
• Babysitting and childcare teaching certifications required or ability to obtain on hire.
• Experience and expertise in teaching youth or leading group programs.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to adapt teaching methods for diverse participants.
• Maintaining a neat, professional appearance per dress code.

Responsibilities

• Plan, prepare, organize, and instruct recreational programs.
• Create a positive and inclusive learning environment for participants of all ages.
• Develop and implement engaging curriculum and activities to meet goals.
• Ensure safety and well-being of participants during programs.
• Provide guidance, feedback, and support to participants to enhance learning.
• Prepare instructional materials, equipment, and supplies in advance.
• Communicate professionally with participants and parents/guardians.
• Uphold organizational policies, equity, inclusion, and community engagement.
