Job summary

NIA Community Services Network, Inc. seeks a part-time Teacher/Instructor at the NIA Main Office in Brooklyn, NY who plans and leads structured activities in a specific specialty area, with support from a Group Leader.

You will be the lead staff member for behavior management and classroom maintenance, working with assistants as needed. Responsibilities include submitting lesson plans, planning culminations, and ensuring daily procedures with positive behavior management.

Qualifications

• At least 1 year of prior experience teaching or facilitating group activities with students.
• High school diploma required.
• College coursework in the areas of education, youth development is expected.

Responsibilities

• Report concerns regarding participants' well being to supervisor promptly.
• Seek supervisor or emergency assistance when a participant is injured.
• Ensure proper supervision of assigned participants at all times.
• Verify identity before dismissing participants to guardians.
