Job summary

Duly Health and Care is seeking a part-time X-ray Technologist in Naperville. You will operate radiologic equipment to produce x-rays for diagnostic purposes, position patients, and explain procedures to reduce anxiety. You will support the department by maintaining equipment, crash carts, supplies, and adhering to OSHA standards.

Ideal candidates have an A.A. degree or equivalent and are AART registered or eligible, with CPR certification.

Qualifications

• Education: Associate’s degree (A.A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or six month to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
• Must be AART registered or eligible; also IDNS licensed.
• CPR certification

Responsibilities

• Operates radiologic equipment to produce radiographs (x-rays) of body for diagnostic purposes, as directed by Radiologist.
• Positions patient on examining table and adjusts immobilization devices to obtain optimum view of specific areas of body requested by physician.
• Explains procedures to patient to reduce anxieties and obtain patient cooperation.
• Moves x-ray equipment into specified positions and adjusts equipment controls to set exposure factors such as time and distance.
• Practices radiation protection techniques to minimize radiation to patient and staff.
• Maintains crash cart and OSHA regulations.
• Maintains and stocks inventory.
• Reports to lead technologist for work assignments.
• Required to work evening and holidays with responsibility for the operation of the department.
• Assists and relieves manager expediting the patient work flow through the department.
