Job summary

Georgia Highlands College in Cartersville seeks a part-time FWS Student - Writing Center Assistant to support the Writing Center across campuses. You will provide one-on-one writing consultations and help students develop writing skills in a collaborative, inclusive environment.

This role offers $12.00 per hour, requires that you are an GHC undergraduate in good standing, and includes training and professional development opportunities.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required and current GHC undergraduate student status is required.
• Some prior experience is preferred but not required; job-specific training will be provided.
• Must maintain satisfactory academic progress and FAFSA on file where applicable.

Responsibilities

• Understand and support the college's mission, vision, and values.
• Provide one-on-one writing consultations for students across disciplines.
• Teach students to recognize and correct writing skills independently.
• Support peers through all stages of the writing process: brainstorming, revising, researching, editing.
• Document sessions and maintain timely data records.
• Communicate with Writing Center leadership about challenging situations.
