Job summary

CareMed is seeking a Wound NP to provide wound care services to residents in long-term care facilities in Washington. You will diagnose and treat wounds, order tests, and coordinate with staff and physicians to optimize care.

Required is a current WA NP license, board certification, and experience with wound care products and wound vacs. A flexible schedule in a facility setting is offered, with opportunities for advanced wound care certification.

Qualifications

• Current, unrestricted NP license in the state of WA.
• Board Certification in a relevant NP specialty.
• DEA licensure is optional but preferred.
• Clinical background in adult, family, or geriatric care.
• Wound care experience with chronic, stalled, or infected wounds.
• Ability to diagnose and treat diabetic, arterial, venous, and mixed wounds.
• Comfort staging pressure injuries per NPIAP.
• Familiarity with wound care products and wound vacs.
• Experience with DME and pressure-relieving devices.
• Wound certification is preferred or willingness to obtain.
• Experience in a long-term care setting and EMR use.
• Ability to work in an interdisciplinary care team.

We are currently seeking Wound Care Nurse Practitioners to provide wound services to patients living in long-term care facilities.

WOUND NP ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Provide wound care services for long-term care patients residing in skilled nursing facilities.
• Prescribe appropriate medications, including controlled substances in accordance with Washington Law.
• Order, review, and/or follow-up with treatments and diagnostic testing.
• Communicate with the nursing home staff on a regular and as needed to discuss changes in condition.
• and/or the care plan.
• Collaborate with the primary care physician.

WOUND NP QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

• Current, unrestricted NP license in the state of WA.
• Board Certification.
• DEA licensure (Optional)
• Clinical background in adult, family, or geriatric specialties.
• Clinical background of wound care; including but not limited to chronic, debilitating, stalled, or infected wounds
• Must be comfortable with diagnosing and treating diabetic, arterial, venous, and mixed etiology wounds or Kennedy Ulcers.
• Must be comfortable staging pressure injuries according to the NPIAP
• Must be familiar with wound care best practice and advanced wound care products; collagens, alginates, foams, silvers, etc.
• Must have experience with wound vacs and other DME, such as pressure relieving/ reducing devices
• Strong preference to having wound certification or be open to getting certified
• Experience working in a long-term care setting.
• Ability to work with an EMR.
• Ability to work within an interdisciplinary care team to coordinate patient care.
