Job summary

CareMed Health Solutions seeks a Wound Care Nurse Practitioner to provide wound management for residents in long-term care facilities in Washington. You will diagnose, treat, and manage chronic wounds, and coordinate care with facility staff and the primary care team.

The position emphasizes wound care product knowledge, wound VACs, and WA regulatory compliance. This is a part-time, on-site role with EMR documentation responsibilities.

Qualifications

• Current, unrestricted NP license in WA.
• Board Certification in appropriate specialty (adult, family, or geriatric).
• DEA licensure (Optional).
• Clinical background in adult, family, or geriatric specialties.
• Clinical wound care experience with chronic, stalled, or infected wounds.
• Comfort diagnosing and treating diabetic, arterial, venous, and mixed etiology wounds.
• Staging pressure injuries per NPIAP.
• Familiar with wound care products: collagens, alginates, foams, silvers, etc.
• Experience with wound VACs and DME (pressure-relieving devices).
• Wound certification or willingness to obtain certification.
• Experience in a long-term care setting.
• Ability to work with an EMR.
• Ability to work in an interdisciplinary team to coordinate patient care.

Responsibilities

• Provide wound care services for long-term care patients in skilled nursing facilities.
• Prescribe medications, including controlled substances in accordance with Washington Law.
• Order, review, and follow-up with treatments and diagnostic testing.

We are currently seeking Wound Care Nurse Practitioners to provide wound services to patients living in long-term care facilities.

WOUND NP ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Provide wound care services for long-term care patients residing in skilled nursing facilities.
• Prescribe appropriate medications, including controlled substances in accordance with Washington Law.
• Order, review, and/or follow-up with treatments and diagnostic testing.
• Communicate with the nursing home staff on a regular and as needed to discuss changes in condition.
• and/or the care plan.
• Collaborate with the primary care physician.

WOUND NP QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

• Current, unrestricted NP license in the state of WA.
• Board Certification.
• DEA licensure (Optional)
• Clinical background in adult, family, or geriatric specialties.
• Clinical background of wound care; including but not limited to chronic, debilitating, stalled, or infected wounds
• Must be comfortable with diagnosing and treating diabetic, arterial, venous, and mixed etiology wounds or Kennedy Ulcers.
• Must be comfortable staging pressure injuries according to the NPIAP
• Must be familiar with wound care best practice and advanced wound care products; collagens, alginates, foams, silvers, etc.
• Must have experience with wound vacs and other DME, such as pressure relieving/ reducing devices
• Strong preference to having wound certification or be open to getting certified
• Experience working in a long-term care setting.
• Ability to work with an EMR.
• Ability to work within an interdisciplinary care team to coordinate patient care.
