Position Description

Harmony Christian Church is seeking a Worship Director who is passionate about leading the church in Christ-centered, congregational worship. This is a paid, part-time position ideal for someone who wants to serve the church bi-vocationally.

The Worship Director will work collaboratively with the pastor to plan Sunday services, lead the congregation musically (preferably using guitar or piano), and organize and equip volunteer musicians.

A strong candidate will be musically skilled, organized, spiritually mature, and committed to leading the congregation in a blended selection of theologically rich songs, drawing from both historic hymns and well-chosen contemporary music.

Role Responsibilities

• Lead the congregation in Christ-centered, engaging worship each Sunday morning through music and prayer.
• Must be able to confidently lead the congregation vocally and instrumentally (preferably using a guitar or piano).
• Recruit, train, and organize volunteers and musicians so that they know and are equipped to execute their role in each service.
• Organize and coordinate weekly worship practices.
• Set a tone of humility and Christ-centeredness for the worship team, encouraging unity, spiritual growth, and an attitude of service.
• The Worship Director reports directly to the Senior Minister, and works with him to plan meaningful worship sets and services in alignment with the message and church calendar.
• Communicate the weekly worship set list and team members in a timely manner to the Senior Minister and Church Secretary.
• Maintain an organized volunteer schedule and set-list using Planning Center.
