Job summary

Employers Council in Colorado is seeking a dedicated Workplace Investigator to thoroughly and impartially investigate workplace conduct and climate. You will plan strategies, interview relevant parties, collect facts, analyze information, and deliver findings in a comprehensive report.

The ideal candidate has a JD with Bar admission, 2+ years of investigation experience, and a background in employment law or HR investigations.

Qualifications

• JD from an accredited law school and Bar admission required.
• 2+ years of investigations experience preferred.
• Background in employment law/HR investigations preferred.
• California law license, fluency in Spanish and Title IX certification/experience a plus.
• 2+ years of experience practicing as an employment attorney preferred.

Responsibilities

• Meet with employer contacts to discuss logistics and background information.
• Develop investigation strategies.
• Gather all relevant facts, documentation, and data relevant to the case.
• Conduct effective investigative interviews and create witness statements.

Employers Council is seeking a Workplace Investigator to join our team. We partner with employers to grow exceptional, dynamic workplaces by offering a comprehensive set of services.

The Workplace Investigator will be responsible for thoroughly and efficiently investigating allegations involving workplace conduct and climate in a fair, unbiased, and consistent manner. The ideal candidate will develop an investigative strategy, identify, and interview relevant parties, gather all facts relevant to the case, analyze pertinent information, and communicate investigative findings in the report.

Successful candidate must reside in Colorado

Hourly Range: $30-$75 Variable per hour.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Meet with employer contacts to discuss logistics and understand background information.
• Develop investigation strategies.
• Gather all relevant facts, documentation, and data relevant to the case.
• Conduct effective investigative interviews and create witness statements.
• Review personnel documents, collect and analyze employee data.
• Prepare report(s) documenting and analyzing evidence, assessing witness credibility, and making factual findings.
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications/Education

Listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills, and ability required

• Law degree (JD) from an accredited law school and Bar admission is required.
• 2+ years of experience conducting investigations preferred.
• Background in employment law/employee relations and/or HR investigations preferred.
• California law license, fluency in Spanish and Title IX certification/experience a plus.
• 2+ years of experience practicing as an employment attorney preferred.
• Excellent attention to detail; ability to work independently and execute plans to meet employers’ needs; ability to prioritize multiple responsibilities; ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
• Strong legal writing and analysis skills
• Strong interpersonal and communications skills are required to be successful in this position.
• Ability to put personal biases aside, have the confidence to make complex decisions and possess a deep respect for privacy and confidentiality.
• Proficient with word-processing, presentation, spreadsheet, and database software (E.g. Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint)
