Job summary

The City of Ontario seeks a part-time Workers' Compensation Analyst to support the Human Resources / Risk Management Agency during normal hours. The role emphasizes claims analysis, data-driven improvements, and program support to help the City become the premier employer in the Inland Empire.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Human Resources Management, Risk Management, Organizational Development, Public Administration or related field.
• Three years of professional or technical experience in HR, benefits, risk management, or related field.
• Certifications such as SIP and WCCA are desirable; knowledge of California 4850 benefits is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Performs professional-level responsibilities for HR/risk management programs and services.
• Reviews workers’ compensation claims and processing procedures for accuracy and efficiency.
• Communicates with supervisors on return-to-work accommodations and work restrictions.
• Coordinates and conducts risk management training for city staff; tracks activities.
• Monitors claims with the Third-Party Administrator and reports trends to management.
