Job summary

Georgia Department of Public Health in the North Georgia Health District seeks an Hourly WIC Buddy Specialist to support the WIC program, recruit participants, and promote breastfeeding across the Dalton area.

This on-site position is limited to 29 hours per week and reports to WIC staff. Applicants should have a high school diploma, WIC peer counseling experience, and curriculum completion; bilingual English/Spanish is preferred.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• One year of WIC Breastfeeding Peer Counselor experience.
• Completion of WIC Breastfeeding Curriculum Level I and II.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and coordinate local WIC Buddy Program activities.
• Market and promote the WIC Buddy Program.
• Recruit WIC participants to the Buddy Program.
• Coordinate and schedule WIC Buddy connections.
• Promote breastfeeding and refer participants.
• Prepare quarterly WIC Buddy program reports.
