Job summary

Dover YMCA is hiring a part-time Fitness Center Associate for the Dover family location. The role focuses on welcoming members, promoting YMCA programs, and maintaining a safe wellness area. You will engage with a diverse community and support team objectives while ensuring customer satisfaction.

The position requires strong interpersonal skills and CPR/First Aid certification within 60 days. Multilingual abilities and a high school diploma or equivalent are preferred.

Qualifications

• Strong interpersonal and communication skills to serve a diverse community.
• CPR & First Aid certification (or must receive within 60 days of hire).
• High school diploma or equivalent (preferred).
• Multilingual skills (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Provide excellent customer service experience to members and prospects by maintaining a visible, welcoming presence in the wellness areas.
• Promotes and sells YMCA memberships and programs.
• Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
• Engage members to help build sustainable relationships of trust through open and interactive communication.
• Address member concerns and provide appropriate solutions and follow-up to ensure resolution and member satisfaction.
• Demonstrate the correct way to use exercise equipment; Assist members as needed with proper form and use of equipment.
• Conduct fitness appointments
• Ensure equipment and facility is clean and free of health and safety hazards.
