Job summary

Sunny View in Warwick, RI is seeking a part-time Activities Assistant to join our long-term care team. You will lead recreational and therapeutic activities designed to enhance residents' physical, mental, and social well-being.

You will facilitate group and individual activities, support residents with cognitive impairments, transport participants, and help maintain calendars and spaces. You will work closely with the Activities Director to plan monthly calendars and care plans, while

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• CPR and First Aid certification; Basic Life Support (BLS) preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Lead daily group and individual activities, including arts and crafts, music, games, exercise classes, and outdoor outings.
• Encourage participation in events, especially for residents with cognitive impairments like dementia.
• Transport residents to and from activity areas, set up and clean up activity spaces, and distribute monthly activity calendars.
• Document resident participation levels, moods, and behaviors to evaluate progress and meet regulatory requirements.
• Assist the Activities Director in developing monthly event calendars and individual care plans.
