Job summary

Gwinnett Technical College seeks a part-time Lab Service Worker in Welding and Joining Technology to support tool room activities and maintain the welding lab. This is an hourly-paid, TRS-covered position with a 20–29 hour work week and no state benefits.

Under supervision, you will sign out tools, organize materials, monitor consumables, and inform the Program Director when stock is low. The role provides hands-on experience in welding lab operations and safety practices.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Technical welding skills with GTAW and GMAW preferred.
• Ability to troubleshoot and repair machines.
• Knowledge of hand and power tools and welding supplies.
• Strong communication and teamwork.

Responsibilities

• Assist in organizing and executing routine tool room related activities.
• Sign out tools and return them to students, and organize the tool room area.
• Cutting/organizing materials; inventory consumable parts; inform the Program Director when stock is low.
• Clean welding lab as requested.
• Support other duties as assigned.
