Job description

JOB SUMMARY
This position is for our weekend swim instructor, and client POC. The essential aspect of the role is teaching our infant swim class on Saturday mornings (can add more lessons) and contacting parents who inquire about the swim program through email or phone. Saturday mornings 8AM - 11AM is required and the rest of the shift time is very flexible.

WORK SCHEDULE

  • Saturdays 8AM - 11AM.
  • Part-time hours are available during the evenings as well as weekends to individuals who can demonstrate the ability to be punctual and dependable with good communication and customer service skills.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE ROLE

  • All instructors will have duties that include in assisting with program set up, implementation, and clean up.
  • Instructs and evaluates students participating in the programs.
  • Work hours as scheduled which includes beginning and ending class on time; remaining after class to answer participant and/or parent questions as needed and clean up supplies.
  • Attends mandatory meetings and training sessions as scheduled.
  • Presents professional appearance and attitude at all times and maintains a high standard of customer service.
  • This position is also accountable for the safety of the participant in their own class.
  • Serve as an instructor for one-on-one aquatic fitness training.
  • Serve as an on-deck coach.

KEY SUCCESS FACTORS

  • Swim team background or WSI (water safety instructor) preferred
  • A lifeguard certification preferred
  • Experience interacting with children and parents
  • Good communication skills, a lot of time is spent on the phone and emailing to set up the lessons.
  • Saturday mornings availability, they can add hours to schedule during the week, it is quite flexible, but Saturdays are required.
  • Heartsaver AED certified
  • CPR/AED American Red Cross Certified

QUALIFICATIONS

  • EDUCATION - H.S. Diploma/GED Equivalent
  • EXPERIENCE - Less than 1 Year of Experience
  • CERTIFICATION/LICENSE/REGISTRATION: NON RQI AHA BLS (BLSNRQI), Cardiopulmonary Resuscitate (CPR), CPR/AED American Red Cross (CPREAD), Heartsaver CPR AED (HSAED): Must have one of the following:
    • Basic Life Support (BLS)
    • Cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR)
    • Heartsaver AED (HSAED)
    • CPR/AED through American Red Cross.
