Job summary

Harvard Protection Services in Philadelphia is seeking a part-time Security Guard with a valid security license and driver's license to help maintain a safe environment at client sites.

The role includes greeting visitors, patrolling, monitoring alarms, and reporting incidents while enforcing site policies. Schedule is Sat-Sun 3pm-11pm; candidates must have a high school diploma and reliable transportation.

Qualifications

• State or municipality mandated security officer licenses.
• Minimum High School Diploma, GED or the equivalent.
• Must have a security guard license or be able to obtain one within an acceptable period.
• Must have reliable means of communication and transportation.
• Strong interpersonal communication skills and neat and professional appearance.
• Write routine log entries and incident reports.
• Previous contract security, law enforcement, military, customer service experience helpful.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a professional demeanor and assist customers, employees, visitors, and guests.
• Maintain a visible presence in the assigned facility.
• Monitor the environment and detect suspicious activity.
• Familiarize with incoming/outgoing traffic, customers, tenants, visitors, and guests.
• Greet people professionally.
• Answer phones professionally.
• Permit entry to authorized persons and monitor entrances/exits.
• Enforce facility policies within role limits.
• Perform patrols on foot or by vehicle.
• Observe departures to prevent theft and ensure proper property removal.
• Follow emergency action procedures.
• Monitor alarms and systems.
• Prepare reports on accidents, incidents, and suspicious activities.
