Job summary

City of Yuma is seeking a part-time Water Systems Quality Control Technician to support the Utilities Department. The role focuses on maintaining water quality through flushing, sampling, and simple testing, under supervision.

You will work outdoors in various conditions, manage valves and hydrants, and assist with compliance and customer inquiries. The ideal candidate holds a high school diploma or GED and may have prior maintenance or plumbing experience.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED or equivalent.
• Laborer, plumbing, construction, or maintenance experience preferred.
• ADEQ Water Distribution System Operator's Grade 1 certification within one year of appointment.

Responsibilities

• Flushing the City's distribution system and disposing water into storm or sanitary sewers.
• Collects water samples and performs simple water quality tests.
• Operates valves, hydrants and blow-offs for flushing activities.
• Reviews maps to determine flushing locations and water source.
• Operates programmable equipment for flushing devices and monitors water quality.
• Responds to customer inquiries and reports to supervisor.
• Maintains safety and confidentiality of information.
