Job summary

The City of Yuma Utilities Department seeks an Electrician to maintain Water and Wastewater electrical equipment and systems. This position performs installation, testing, calibration, repair, and preventive maintenance to ensure reliable operation of critical W/WW facilities.

The ideal candidate will have a high school diploma or GED and an electrical apprenticeship or equivalent experience, with strong knowledge of electrical codes and safety protocols. Training is provided as needed.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED plus four years as an industrial electrician or completion of an electrical apprenticeship.
• Knowledge of electrical code, safety rules, and plant equipment operations.
• Experience with installation, testing, and repair of W/WW electrical systems.

Responsibilities

• Locate and repair electrical problems in W/WW facilities in accordance with codes and safety regulations.
• Perform electrical repair and maintenance within scope of authority and document activities.
• Inspect, calibrate, install, and repair electrical systems and components; read diagrams and blueprints.
