Job summary

Fastenal is hiring part-time Picking at our distribution center in Modesto, CA. The role involves selecting orders, packing products, labeling with routing numbers, and moving items to the next department by hand, pallet jack, or forklift.

This entry-level position supports healthy workplace practices and sustainability goals, with shifts Monday through Friday from 12:30pm to 6:30pm. You will operate RF scanners, printers, and weighing scales, while maintaining a clean, organized work area.

Qualifications

• 18 years of age or over.
• Proficient written and oral communication skills.
• Highly motivated, self directed and customer service oriented.
• Demonstrate strong math aptitude, attention to detail and sense of urgency.
• Learn and perform multiple tasks in a fast paced environment.
• Work independently as well as in a team environment.
• Willingness to work a flexible schedule/extra time as needed.

• Lift, slide, carry and lower packages that typically weigh 25lbs-50lbs and may weigh up to 100lbs.
• Pass the required drug screen (applicable in the US, Puerto Rico and Guam ONLY).

Responsibilities

• Picking orders and packing product efficiently and accurately.
• Operating computer programs, RF scanners, and printers to label product.
• Using a scale for weighing product.
• Maintaining the cleanliness and organization of work area.
