Job description

The Warehouse Assistant supports daily Supply warehouse operations, including receiving, stocking, order fulfillment, shipping, inventory handling, and warehouse organization.

This hands-on role moves products accurately and efficiently through the warehouse while following inventory, labeling, lot/expiration, shipping, safety, and biosecurity procedures. The position collaborates with Supply and Customer Service team members to ensure timely, accurate order fulfillment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Receiving & Put-Away
  • Receive inventory; verify products, quantities, and documentation.
  • Report shortages, overages, damage, incorrect products, and other discrepancies.
  • Capture lot/serial numbers and expiration dates and properly handle temperature-sensitive products.
  • Put inventory away using established locations, labeling, identification, and rotation standards.
  • Report unclear locations, labels, or inventory-control concerns to the Inventory Specialist.
  • Use barcode-based receiving processes as implemented.
  • Accurately pick orders and verify product, quantity, lot/serial information, expiration dates, and required documentation.
  • Follow FEFO inventory rotation and create or confirm required product and prescription labels.
  • Pack and stage orders for carrier, customer, freight, or other delivery methods, including proper handling of temperature-sensitive products.
  • Follow customer shipping requirements and promptly report short picks, damage, inventory discrepancies, or other fulfillment issues.
  • Continue filling remaining order items when appropriate while discrepancies are resolved.
  • Use barcode-based fulfillment workflows as implemented.
  • Perform product kitting, assembly, repackaging, or special preparation as needed.
Stocking & Warehouse Organization
  • Stock and replenish shelves and picking locations.
  • Maintain clean, orderly, accessible storage and work areas using established location, labeling, and organization standards.
  • Report misplaced products, incorrect labels, location problems, damage, or other inventory concerns.
  • Follow warehouse safety and biosecurity procedures.
Inventory Support
  • Participate in physical inventories and assigned cycle counts; accurately count stock and report discrepancies.
  • Support inventory rotation, expiration review, and physical organization.
  • Assist with vendor returns, transfers, cooler inventory, and other physical inventory movement as directed.
Customer & Department Support
  • Assist customers and employees at the front counter and stage products for pickup.
  • Collaborate with Customer Service and Supply team members to complete orders and support changing operational needs.
  • Communicate incomplete work, outstanding orders, receiving issues, and other concerns to ensure effective shift handoffs.
Cross Departmental Training
  • Provide trained backup support for Parts fulfillment, front-counter service, customer pickup, freight staging, and end-of-day warehouse or shipping activities.
  • Cross-train in receiving, stocking, fulfillment, shipping, inventory support, and barcode technology.
  • Perform other warehouse activities needed to maintain customer fulfillment and Supply operations.

Education Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Warehouse, shipping and receiving, order fulfillment, inventory, or related experience preferred.

  • An equivalent combination of education, training, and experience may be considered.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
  • Strong attention to detail, organization, communication, and commitment to order accuracy.
  • Ability to receive, count, stock, pick, pack, and stage inventory accurately.
  • Ability to follow inventory-control, lot/serial, expiration, FEFO, labeling, shipping, safety, and biosecurity procedures.
  • Ability to identify and communicate discrepancies or potential problems.
  • Basic computer and data-entry skills; ability to learn Sage 100, handheld scanners, and warehouse/barcode systems.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively, prioritize customer orders, adapt to changing workloads, and learn new processes.
Physical Requirements:

This physically active warehouse position requires regular standing, walking, bending, reaching, lifting, carrying, stocking, picking, packing, and moving products and materials. The employee must safely perform warehouse activities and use material-handling equipment when trained and authorized. Physical standards will align with the position’s essential functions and company policy.
