Job summary

The University of the Incarnate Word invites applications for a part-time Lecturer in Voice in the Department of Music. The role will teach weekly applied voice lessons and may include Singer's Workshop and other voice courses as needed.

Responsibilities include recruitment, attendance at departmental studio hour, and voice seminar on Thursdays from 1:30 to 2:45 p.m., and collaboration with colleagues to ensure curriculum outcomes are met.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Music with Vocal Performance/Pedagogy.
• At least 1 year of college-level private voice teaching.
• Significant performing experience as a vocalist.

Responsibilities

• Prepare course outlines and teach based on approved syllabi.
• Prepare and administer meaningful assessments for assigned courses.
• Collaborate with departmental faculty to meet curriculum outcomes.
• Be available outside of class to help students learn and answer questions.
• Adhere to UIW policies and timely record keeping; provide feedback to students.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
• Attend weekly voice recital hour and voice seminar on Thursdays 1:30–2:45 p.m.
