The UCLA Music Performance, Education & Composition Department invites applications for a part-time lecturer in Violin Performance and/or String Chamber Music. Salary commensurate with qualifications; percentage of appointment commensurate with courses assigned.

Responsibilities include weekly string chamber music coaching and violin lessons for violin majors (Performance and Music Education); adjudicating student juries and performances; instruction may be shared with other violin faculty.

Qualifications

• At least four years of teaching experience, with university teaching preferred.
• Bachelor's degree in a related field is required; Doctorate in Musical Arts is preferred.
• Expertise in pedagogy and performance.

Responsibilities

• Teach weekly string chamber music coaching and/or violin lessons for violin majors, including Performance and Music Education majors.
• Students range from first-year undergraduate through DMA level.
• Must attend and adjudicate student juries and String Chamber Music performances.
• Applied instruction of violin students may be shared with other violin faculty.
