Job summary

The Colburn School in Los Angeles seeks a part-time violin instructor to recruit and teach students from elementary through adult levels, including pre-college and non-college programs. This role is onsite and offers competitive pay and opportunities to work with a renowned faculty.

You will evaluate skill levels, build a studio of students, and participate in auditions, recitals, concerts, and workshops. Collaboration with faculty is encouraged.

Qualifications

• Master degree or higher, or equivalent professional experience with 10+ years teaching violin.
• Active performing/studio career preferred.
• Ability to contribute to a positive, supportive team environment.
• Ability to work with a diverse student population.

Responsibilities

• Teach non-college violin students from elementary to advanced levels.
• Evaluate students to determine skill level.
• Recruit and maintain a studio of non-college violin students.
• Participate in departmental student auditions, Friday Night Recital adjudication, concerts, workshops, class performances, and faculty meetings.
• Assist students with recording sessions for auditions, competitions, etc.
• Hold regular studio recitals.
• Arrange performance opportunities for students, as appropriate.
