Job summary

Magellan Health at Fort Irwin, California seeks an On Site Part-Time Victim Advocate to support Army Family Advocacy and Victim Advocacy programs. You will provide crisis intervention, emotional support, safety planning, and coordinate with military and civilian agencies to connect victims with resources.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree from an accredited school in social work or related field.
• Two years of experience working with victims of domestic abuse/sexual assault.
• Experience with risk assessments, safety planning, and community resources.
• Ability to intervene in crisis situations with sound judgement and ethics.
• Ability to work independently and with diverse populations.

Responsibilities

• Provide crisis intervention and accompany victims to medical, legal, or law enforcement appointments.
• Develop safety plans and conduct lethality assessments.
• Refer victims to community resources and assist with Crime Victims’ Compensation.
• Maintain case management and ensure data entry within three business days.
• Coordinate with FAPM and multidisciplinary teams to advocate for victims.
