Job summary

Magellan Federal at JBLM, Washington seeks a Full-Time On Site Victim Advocate to support the Army's Family Advocacy and Victim Advocacy Programs, delivering crisis intervention and comprehensive services to Soldiers, Family Members, and Civilians.

You will coordinate with FAPM and other agencies, provide safety planning, referrals, and education, and work primarily evenings and weekends as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited school in social work, psychology, marriage, family and child counseling, counseling or behavior science, education, community health or public health.
• Two years’ experience working with victims of domestic abuse/sexual assault violence or victim advocacy services.
• Must be available to provide crisis intervention services 24 hours per day, 7 days per week.
• Willing to travel within an estimated 50-mile radius of the assigned work location.

Responsibilities

• Provides crisis intervention and comprehensive services including emotional support and transportation arrangements.
• Accompanies victims to medical, legal, and law enforcement appointments as requested.
• Assesses health and safety risks and makes referrals as appropriate.
• Assists victims in navigating services and securing needed resources.
• Maintains confidential, sensitive, and immediate care.
• Performs initial screening, risk and lethality assessment, and safety planning.
• Liaises with FAPM to ensure coordinated victim services and training.
• Provides information on victim rights and resources on and off the installation.
• Ensures daily contact with a victim in crisis and regular follow-ups when not in crisis.
• Transports cases through court or appointments as needed.
