Job summary

City of Aurora seeks a Veterinary Technician (Part Time) to perform medical assessments, administer treatments, and assist with surgeries and anesthesia within the Animal Services division.

The role requires an Associate degree in Veterinary Technology and licensure eligibility in Colorado, with duties including patient care, record-keeping, and owner education in a fast-paced shelter environment.

Qualifications

• Associates degree in veterinary technology required.
• Licensed Veterinary Technician credentials (RVT/LVT/CVT) current or able to obtain within 6 months.
• Experience in anesthesia and animal care in a high-volume setting preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform evaluations on animals including age, gender and general health.
• Administer medications, vaccinations and microchips as directed by Veterinarian.
• Educate patrons about medical conditions and treatments.
• Assist with euthanasia and related procedures as required.
• Maintain medical records and logging of controlled substances.
