BluePearl Pet Hospital in Oak Creek, WI is hiring experienced Part-time Veterinary Technicians to work in our busy Emergency and Critical Care department.

As an Emergency Veterinary Technician, you will induce, monitor and recover anesthesia, triage emergencies, perform digital radiography, monitor vitals, place IV catheters and feeding tubes, assist with CPR, and mentor other staff with patience and empathy.

Qualifications

• Experience as an Emergency Veterinary Technician preferred.
• Ability to perform anesthesia, monitoring and critical care tasks.
• Comfort with fast-paced shifts and high-quality patient care.

Responsibilities

• Induce, monitor and recover anesthesia in patients.
• Triage emergency cases and monitor vitals (temp, HR, RR, BP).
• Perform digital radiography with proper patient positioning.
• Monitor vital signs and alert Veterinarian to changes.
• Initiate CPR for at-risk patients and assist as needed.
• Place IV catheters and conduct phlebotomy as required.
• Assist with feeding tubes and central line access when needed.
• Mentor and train co-workers with patience and empathy.

BluePearl Pet Hospital in Oak Creek, WI is hiring experienced Part-time Veterinary Technicians to work in our busy Emergency and Critical Care department .

All Shifts available (Weekend & Weekday).

As an Emergency Veterinary Technician, you will:

• Induce, monitor and recover anesthesia in patients and use anesthesia/monitoring equipment.
• Triage emergency cases as they arrive at the hospital including obtaining vitals such as temperature heart rate, respiratory rate and blood pressure.
• Perform digital radiography using proper technique including proper positioning of patients.
• H ave a complete understanding of normal ranges of patient vital signs, including but not limited to heart and respiratory rate, temperature, blood pressure and oxygen saturation.
• Obtain and interpret blood pressure and other vital signs and alert Veterinarian to changes and issues.
• Identify patients at risk for arrest and initiate CPR.
• Properly calculate medical math (including constant rate infusions) and administer medications via appropriate routes and duration.
• Are proficient at performing phlebotomy and placing intravenous catheters in all peripheral vessels.
• Place and maintain feeding tubes and central line catheters.
• Have a passion for mentoring and training other co-workers.
• Have patience and empathy to address client concerns.
