Job summary

Lenoir City Animal Clinic is seeking a Part-Time Veterinary Assistant to join our dedicated team. You will work closely with veterinarians and technicians to assist with medical procedures, patient care, and client education in a fast-paced clinical setting.

Responsibilities include helping with exams, diagnostics, medications, and surgical prep, while maintaining sterile conditions and accurate records. This role emphasizes hands-on patient care and teamwork with the Veterinary Assistants

Qualifications

• At least 1 year hands-on veterinary assistant experience (preferred).
• High school diploma or equivalent; vet assistant program a plus.
• Familiarity with animal restraint and basic terminology.
• Comfort working with dogs, cats, and small animals.

Responsibilities

• Assist veterinarians and technicians during exams, diagnostics, treatments, and procedures.
• Administer medications as prescribed (oral, injectable, subcutaneous, topical).
• Monitor vital signs and document treatments and observations.
• Prepare patients for surgery and maintain sterile fields.
• Assist with anesthesia under supervision and collect diagnostic samples.
• Maintain cleanliness and proper sterilization of exam rooms and equipment.
