Job summary

Huntersville Veterinary Clinic in Huntersville, NC is seeking a compassionate veterinary assistant for a part-time schedule (~15 hours/week). You will assist with patient flow, prepare lab samples, and communicate clearly with clients in a small, supportive team.

The role requires a high school diploma or equivalent, strong communication and organizational skills, the ability to lift up to 50 pounds, and a calm, patient approach in a fast-paced clinic.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Strong written and oral communication and organizational skills.
• Ability to prioritize tasks, be flexible, calm, and compassionate in a sometimes fast-paced and stressful environment.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds with assistance as needed.
• Comfortable working around bodily fluids, sharps, anesthetic agents, medical gases, and veterinary chemicals with appropriate safety training.

Responsibilities

• Assist with patient flow from check-in through discharge and maintain accurate medical records.
• Assist with collecting/preparing laboratory samples, performing diagnostic testing and preparation of medications and treatments as directed.
• Provide safe and compassionate patient restraint for examinations and procedures including IV catheter placement, venipuncture, and vaccination.
• Assist with preparation of supplies and equipment.
• Communicate clearly and professionally with clients.
• Maintain a clean, stocked, organized clinic and assist with inventory and reception duties.
