Job summary

Brookhaven Animal Hospital is seeking a reliable Part-Time Kennel Assistant to support boarding and hospitalized pets. You will help with feeding, walking, bathing, and maintaining cleanliness in a veterinary environment.

This role offers hands-on experience in veterinary medicine and animal care, with a rotating schedule that includes evenings and weekends. Candidates should be 18+ with a high school diploma or equivalent and a genuine interest in animal care.

Qualifications

• Experience with animals or veterinary care is a plus but not required.
• Comfortable handling dogs and cats of different sizes.
• Reliable, punctual, and able to follow procedures.
• Willingness to work evenings and weekends as part of a rotating schedule.

Responsibilities

• Provide daily care for boarding and hospitalized pets, including feeding and watering.
• Walk, bathe, and provide enrichment for dogs and cats.
• Monitor pets for changes in behavior, appetite, or condition and report concerns.
• Maintain clean and sanitized kennels, cages, runs, and hospital areas.
• Assist with animal handling and restraint as needed.
• Complete laundry, dishes, stocking, and other daily tasks.
• Interact with clients in a friendly and professional manner.
