Job summary

Southwind Animal Hospital in Memphis, Tennessee, is seeking a Part-Time Veterinary Assistant to support veterinarians and technicians in daily tasks such as cleaning, restraining patients, feeding, and preparing surgery suites. Qualifications

• Applicants must be 18 years of age or older
• Minimum of one year of verifiable hands-on technician/assistant work

Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate care to all patients
• Greet patients and owners; record weight and vital signs
• Triage, perform exams, treatments, and administer medications as directed by LVTs/DVMs
• Calm and soothe anxious patients
• Assist doctors with medications and restraints
• Perform laboratory tests and take radiographs
• Operate and maintain hospital equipment and maintain documentation
• Maintain medical records and ensure proper handling of controlled drugs
