Job summary

VetEvolve is seeking a Part-Time Veterinary Assistant to join Lancaster Veterinary Specialties in Lancaster, PA. The role supports busy internal medicine, surgery, oncology, and ophthalmology teams.

The ideal candidate has veterinary hospital experience, strong animal handling skills, and a proactive, team-oriented approach. You will work 2–3 daytime to early evening shifts per week, assist with patient care, procedures, and everyday hospital tasks, and contribute to a positive team environment

Qualifications

• At least 1 year of veterinary hospital experience.
• Strong animal restraint and handling skills.
• Dependable and punctual with a consistent attendance record.
• Self-motivated and able to work without constant direction.
• Ability to adapt priorities in a busy hospital environment.
• Clear, professional communication with team members and clients.

Responsibilities

• Assisting veterinary technicians and specialists with patient care.
• Safe restraint and handling of dogs and cats.
• Prepare patients and treatment areas for procedures.
• Assist with in-house laboratory testing and sample prep.
• Clean, sterilize, and organize instruments and rooms.
• Support client service and manage patient flow throughout the hospital.
