VetEvolve is seeking a Part-Time Veterinary Assistant to join Lancaster Veterinary Specialties in Lancaster, PA. The role supports busy internal medicine, surgery, oncology, and ophthalmology teams.

The ideal candidate has veterinary hospital experience, strong animal handling skills, and a proactive, team-oriented approach. You will work 2–3 daytime to early evening shifts per week, assist with patient care, procedures, and everyday hospital tasks, and contribute to a positive team environment

Part Time Veterinary Assistant

Lancaster Veterinary Specialties is looking for an experienced, dependable, and motivated Part-Time Veterinary Assistant to join our team.

We are a small, close-knit specialty hospital providing Internal Medicine, Surgery, Oncology, and Ophthalmology services. Our days can be busy and priorities can change quickly, so we are looking for someone who enjoys being part of a team, takes initiative, and is comfortable jumping in wherever help is needed.

This is a great opportunity for someone with veterinary hospital experience who wants to continue learning and gain exposure to specialty medicine while working alongside experienced veterinary technicians and specialists.

What we're looking for:

• At least 1 year of veterinary hospital experience required

Responsibilities may include:

• Assisting veterinary technicians and specialists with patient care
• Safe restraint and handling of dogs and cats
• Preparing patients and treatment areas for procedures
• Assisting with in-house laboratory testing and sample preparation
• Cleaning, packaging, and sterilizing surgical instruments
• Cleaning and maintaining treatment and patient areas
• Stocking supplies and keeping work areas organized
• Assisting with patient flow throughout the hospital
• Helping the client service team when needed
• Anticipating what needs to be done next and helping the team keep the day moving efficiently

Schedule:

This is a part-time position averaging approximately 2-3 shifts per week. Shifts are primarily daytime into early evening.

Compensation:

$16–$20/hour, depending on veterinary experience and skill level.
