Job summary

Veterinary Hospital at the Lake in Sherrills Ford, NC seeks a Veterinary Assistant to support veterinarians and technicians in patient care, monitor hospitalized pets, maintain inventory, prepare prescriptions, perform routine in-house lab work, educate clients, and assist with surgeries.

Responsibilities include taking histories and vital signs, assisting outpatient exams, and ensuring clean examination rooms and proper safety procedures.

Responsibilities

• Assist veterinarians and technicians with medical and surgical tasks.
• Take histories, vitals, and weights during outpatient exams and educate clients.
• Prepare patients for surgery and monitor vital signs during procedures.
• Obtain samples and perform in-house lab tests and prepare specimens for outside labs.
• Radiograph taking and maintenance following safety procedures.
• Handle and restrain animals during exams.
• Administer medications, anesthesia, vaccines, and treatments as directed.
