The position involves intermittent scheduling, maintaining mileage and fuel logs, and coordinating with hospital and social work staff to ensure smooth passenger transitions.

Qualifications

• Must possess a valid Ohio driver’s license with a clean driving record and no felony convictions.
• Completion of secondary education or equivalent with training or experience in vehicle operation.
• Must be able to use Microsoft Office Outlook, Excel, and Word.
• Must be internet savvy to use MapQuest and other search programs.
• Must be able to use GPS or read maps and navigate routes.

Responsibilities

• Transport eligible veterans to and from the Dayton VA Medical Center (VAMC) and to WPAFB.
• Coordinate with VAMC nurses and social workers when a hospitalized veteran is released and needs transportation.
• Record mileage and fuel usage; maintain vehicle safety and hygiene.
• Assist veterans with appointment changes to fit transportation schedules; ensure regular attendance.
