Job summary

The role requires a valid Ohio driver’s license with a clean driving record, no felony convictions, basic Microsoft Office skills, GPS/maps navigation, and coordination with VAMC nurses and social workers.

Qualifications

• Honorably discharged veteran given priority for consideration.
• Valid Ohio driver's license with clean driving record and no felonies.
• Secondary education or equivalent with vehicle operation training/experience.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office Outlook, Excel, and Word.
• Internet savvy to use MapQuest and other search programs.
• Ability to read maps, navigate routes, and use GPS.
• Ability to network and coordinate with other agencies.

Responsibilities

• Transport eligible veterans to Dayton VA Medical Center and return them home.
• Transport veterans to other medical appointments near Dayton VAMC and WPAFB.
• Record mileage and fuel usage; follow van transportation policy.
• Coordinate with nurses and social workers when veterans are discharged and need transport.
• Assist passengers with changes to appointments to fit transportation schedule.
• Maintain van safety and hygiene; report needs to Transportation Coordinator.
• Ensure regular, predictable attendance and comply with safety standards.
