Long Valley Animal Hospital in Long Valley, NJ is seeking a compassionate and skilled part-time Veterinary Assistant to join our team. You will provide care to our pet patients, assist with exams and treatments, and help maintain clean, organized exam rooms.

Ideal candidates have at least 1 year of veterinary assistant or technician experience, are comfortable with dogs and cats of all sizes, and can communicate clearly with clients about procedures and home care.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• 1+ years veterinary assistant or technician experience.
• Comfortable with dogs/cats of all sizes and temperaments.
• Computer savvy; Cornerstone software experience is a plus.
• Comfortable and skilled in communicating with clients and coworkers.
• Detail-oriented yet able to work quickly and efficiently.

Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate care to pet patients and their families.
• Keep accurate medical records according to hospital policy.
• Prepare exam rooms and treatment areas.
• Perform physical assessments and record observations.
• Prepare estimates for procedures and discuss costs with clients.
• Explain follow-up and home care instructions.
• Stock treatment areas and inform inventory needs.
• Assist Veterinarian in medical, surgical, and dental procedures.
• Educate clients on preventive care and product information.
