Job summary

University of Arkansas at Fort Smith is seeking Upward Bound Tutors to conduct group tutoring for high school participants across core subjects. This is a temporary, fixed-term role reporting to the Upward Bound Academic Specialist in the UB Shared Programs department.

Minimum qualifications include course work in the subject area with a 3.0 GPA, sophomore or higher standing, and strong communication skills.

Qualifications

• Minimum qualifications include completed course work in the subject area with 3.0 or higher GPA.
• Sophomore or higher standing at a post-secondary institution.
• Well-developed communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide tutoring to Upward Bound students to assist with course work.
• Promote effective academic readiness and good study habits.
• Maintain attendance data and provide tutoring evaluations.
• Enhance learning concepts, test preparation, and skill building as needed.
• Subject areas needed: English, history, social sciences, Mathematics, Science, Spanish.
